Know what the readings describe.
- Weather source
- NOAA / National Weather Service: latest KDED observation. Station metadata identifies DeLand Municipal Airport. The point is a station location, not a surveyed venue or landing area.
- Units and missing values
- Reported speed units are converted to knots or miles per hour. Zero is retained as zero; an unreported gust or direction stays “Not reported.” We do not replace missing readings with sample weather.
- Observation age
- Times show when the station observation was made, in New York time and UTC. The age is calculated when checked. Reports older than 90 minutes are labeled older/stale by this tool's display rule; that rule is not an operating or safety limit.
- Refresh and availability
- Upstream responses and your browser may each cache observations for five minutes; these layers can add roughly ten minutes of delay. Always check the source observation time and age. Refresh requests are limited in the page to once per minute. Data or map providers may be unavailable. There is no automatic background polling.

Does this page tell me whether I can jump?
No. It shows reported surface observations for visitor context. Ask Skydive DeLand staff about current operations and follow their briefing.
Why might the weather reading be old or unavailable?
The station or data feed may be delayed or missing values. Read the observation time, then use the official source and contact the venue. We do not create a replacement METAR.
Is the map a guide to canopy landing zones?
No. It is an area map with a labeled weather-station point. Use the official drop-zone briefing and on-site instruction for landing information.
Can friends and family visit while others jump?
